About Me

A 1991 graduate of the University of Montana School of Journalism, Amy Joyner has been a professional writer for 35 years. Her most substantial writing years were spent while working for the Montana’s largest newspaper, the Billings Gazette, Salem, Oregon’s daily newspaper the Statesman Journal, and, Montana Business Quarterly Magazine at the University of Montana.

A mostly retired staff newspaper reporter in Montana and Oregon, Joyner still takes on writing gigs nationwide as a freelance journalist.

Successfully tolerating life with Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years and now walking with a shiny purple walker, 55-year-old Joyner writes from her single-level home 20 miles from Glacier National Park in Northwest Montana.

She is plotting another title about Matt, the sorrowful main character from her debut novel, Darkest Sunshine. In her follow-up, Matt is a college graduate in Social Work, helping other displaced young orphans.
